OUT OF THE SHADOWS WALK - SUNBURY

On World Suicide Prevention Day, we proudly brought the Sunbury community together for the Out of the Shadows Walk – a day dedicated to raising awareness, starting conversations, and supporting mental health.
We organised a 9km community walk from the Ball Court to Clarke Oval and back, creating a safe and supportive environment for people to come together, connect, and walk with purpose. The day wasn’t just about the distance – it was about the conversations had along the way, the stories shared, and the reminder that no one has to go through tough times alone.
Following the walk, the community came together for an afternoon of food, connection, and a raffle made possible by the incredible generosity of local businesses. Every dollar raised was donated directly to Lifeline, helping ensure their phone lines remain open for those who need support most.
This event was a powerful reflection of what community is all about – people showing up for one another, breaking down the stigma around mental health, and creating space for real, meaningful conversations.
